About eTown Shopping

Originally designed by Murray Wennerlund, the eTown Shopping Mall project which is designed to help promote products offered by small retailers and merchants from the USA and select merchants from outside our borders.

In a nut shell eTown Shopping is a community shopping center.

If you could visualize for a moment walking into a shopping mall you will see the Mall Entrance and once inside you would see the individual stores.

Because it is not practical to list stores by name because most of us would never know what that store has to offer until we actually went into the store. eTown Shopping displays the products offered by all the stores in our shopping mall.

This way you can shop by category or by our display advertisements. When you use our eTown Shopping Directory you will find products categorized with sub categories to help you narrow your search.

In our directory pages you'll find links to view the product within our shopping mall and links to take you directly to the retailer and merchant selling the product.

eTown Shopping is a Sales Venue. This means retailers and merchants use our services to promote and sell products to shoppers. We maintain the pages and keep things running smoothly but we do not involve ourselves with the actual sale of products.

If you have a problem you are welcome to contract us here at eTown Shopping by using our main contact form. If you need to contact a merchant you will need to visit the merchants webpages and use their contact form.

You might find merchants have different colors and banners then the main eTown Shopping Mall. We set this up so merchant stores can stand out better and so they can associate their business with their products better.

The layout for navigation with all of our merchant pages will always remain the same. We do not want our shoppers struggling to finding links. Once you have browsed eTownShopping.Com you will know all the links for each and every storefront hosted by us.

Always look for the "Verify Active Mall" or "Verify Active Store" link at the top of the page. You can check to see if you have been "Spoofed" by clicking on this link. You will be directed to eTownShopping.Com authentication page and you'll see right away if the site is actually a member of our shopping mall. If you are on a product detail or summary page the link will direct you to the main page then click again for the test to run.

eTown Shopping History

We want you to know first hand that we do not support big corporate retailers that import 100% of their products outside our borders.
We focus on small shops that tend to sell products created locally or in country.

We developed our shopping mall to help merchants maintain a big footprint online with a very small operating budget.
Most merchants pay less per year for our services then they do per month at any of our competitor sites.

We focus on marketing products and services before names.
You might have visited shopping .com or other search engine shopping sites. These are great in that you can shop and compare side by side several resellers for each product.
The problem with their system is the monthly costs.
We were quoted $3,500.00 per month and we had to do all of our own uploading and maintain our own site so they can redirect to our products.

If a small merchant is making that type of money from online sales they are doing great. But if you haven't noticed only a few major corporations can still advertise in sites that offer shop and compare search engine marketing.

We offer simple down to earth marketing methods and promote customer interaction and customer care.
We bring back old fashioned shopping and slow down the quick pace that you see in so many other shopping malls.

We don't advertise for any outside business or products that are not sold within our shopping mall. That means no Google or Double Click advertisements that might mislead you into thinking your are visiting one of our merchants.

The only way to help shoppers shop safe is to screen our merchants and keep you shopping in our mall the whole time you are browsing. We do this by hosting all of our resellers and merchants. Every site that redirects to our checkout with your shopping cart is hosted by use. This means we can keep merchants up and running and free up their time to give you the shopper better customer care.

Retail merchants aren't all website developers and we don't expect them to be. We expect them to know their products and know how to deliver the best of customer service.

By the way, there are not special tricks to our shopping mall. It's all how we programmed it. You can completely block our cookies and still browse our site. Checkout and our membership pages may not work or be limited in their usage but you should be able to place a one time order.
